  • Loop Labs  - Nice time- line editor; learning curve is a bit higher than most sites.
  • Your Spins  - Great site for mixing prerecorded music and sharing with others.
  • Indaba  -  Unique site where users can create collaborative music pieces to make one final product.

  • CCMixter has plenty of open licences that state you can reuse their music.
  • amendo has literally tons of music that you can reuse in Presentations.  Also if you have students that play music and need a place to "get it out there" then Jamendo might be that source.

Sound Effects
FlashKit SoundFX
This site has tons of ads, and you have to scroll to the bottom of their site to get to the sound files, but once you get there, there are plenty of sound effects for you and your students to use in their Presentations.

FreeSound
FreeSound is one of the better sites out there for you to find the right sound effects for your presentation or movie.  You do have to be registered to download the sound, but there are plenty of Public Domain licences available on this site.

  • Voxopop – http://www.voxopop.com/This is a free service which can be used to create asynchronous audio discussions. Unlike many podcasting sites, it is interactive and it enables listeners to record a response to the audio they hear. This is especially useful if you want to create discussion around your podcast topics, or if you use it to create sentence drills and you want students to create their own recording of each drill. The discussion threads can be downloaded to mobile devices. Click here for an example of Voxopop being used to create a chain story.

However, keep in mind that most of the sites listed below do not have built-in filters for images. These image search engines should be used either by educators (adults assisting students) or go in hand in hand with a school district filtering solution and Acceptable Use Policy.

  • Cyclo.ps - Search engine that searches the most popular free image engines around and provides one-stop shopping.
  • School Clip Art - Great site for free school clip art.
  • Ookaboo - Creative commons (free) site for finding great images for class work.
  • Picsearch - Excellent image search engine, if used with a district's filtering solution.
  • Veezzle - Wonderful free stock photo search engine.
